--------- IMPORTANT --------- Double-click on !ButtonBar *before* you double-click on MiniBarSJ. It is very important that you follow that sequence (if you don't, then things will go horribly wrong...). ----------- What is it? ----------- MiniBarSJ provide a natty little buttonbar which is designed to enhance your experience of using SwiftJPEG (1.10). When MiniBarSJ is active, a Mini Bar will appear in the bottom left of SwiftJPEG's window (sitting on the horizontal scroll bar). The buttons on the Mini Bar perform the following functions: Up arrow: Skip Back x Number of Images (the number of images is set in 'Miscellaneous' in Choices) Left arrow: Previous Image Reload icon: Reload current image Right arrow: Next Image Down arrow: Skip Forward x Number of Images (the number of images is set in 'Miscellaneous' in Choices) Question mark: Choices window Magnifying glass: Zoom Save Picture Info Full Screen ---------------------------------- Automagically Running the Mini Bar ---------------------------------- You might find that you want the Mini Bar available every time that you use SwiftJPEG. To arrange this, you should: double-click on !Boot on your hard disc; click on Boot in the 'Configuration' window; click on Run in the 'Boot Sequence' window; and then drag !ButtonBar and MiniBarSJ into the 'Run at Startup' window. It is very important that you make sure that !ButtonBar appears before MiniBarSJ in the list. Next, click Set (and Set). When you next restart your computer, MiniBarSJ will be ready and waiting for SwiftJPEG. NB: If you are using a 'classic', pre-RISC OS 4 version of RISC OS, then you can manually place !Buttonbar and MiniBarSJ in the Tasks folder in !Boot (!Boot.Choices.Boot.Tasks). Alternatively, you might only want to load the Mini Bar when you are using SwiftJPEG. To do this you could add the following lines to the beginning of SwiftJpeg's !Run file: Filer_Run .!ButtonBar Filer_Run .MiniBarSJ where is the full pathname of the folder containing the !ButtonBar application and the folder containing MinBarSJ NB: The disadvantage with this method is that you will need to re-enter this information into SwiftJPEG's !Run file each time an updated version of the application is released. ---------------- Acknowledgements ---------------- With grateful thanks to David Llewellyn-Jones for the very wonderful BBarEdit which was used to create MiniBarSJ. If you want to design your own buttonbar extravaganzas, then visit his website (www.flypig.co.uk) for the latest version of BBarEdit. And, of course, heaps of thanks to Andrew Hodgkinson for SwiftJPEG, which has made JPEG-viewing an utter delight for a decade.
